Laura has served as the Executive Director for the Stark County Dental Society for ten years and is a licensed massage therapist providing massage at two spas and a country club. Her mother, Marge, was the ultimate stage mom and had high hopes that Laura would become a NYC Rock-ette some day, but had to settle for a tap-dancer and baton twirler for the Akron Cadet-Ettes, Springfield High School and The University of Akron. So, raising funds for a theatre, especially the Massillon Lincoln Theatre, was a rare and fitting opportunity, and seemed like it would be a lot of fun in the process. Laura is so proud of her two handsome, fabulous sons, Ben and Brad, who make her heart sing!!! In her very little spare time, she loves to make wine, practice hot yoga, and powerwalk in one of the many Stark County parks. Laura is super excited to be part of the Lions Lincoln Theatre 2018 Dancing with the Massillon Stars. Click HERE to Vote for Laura DeForest!
Robb Hankins has spent the last 30 years directing arts agencies in nine different states. In 2005, he became CEO of ArtsinStark, the non-profit Arts Council for Stark County. Since then he’s created the Canton Arts District, “First Fridays,” the SmArts Program in the schools, and finished the first five artworks of The ELEVEN. He oversees the Cultural Center for the Arts which is now preparing for its 50th birthday in 2020, and runs the only united arts fund drive in America to ever make goal for 13 years in a row.
Dawn was born in North Carolina and moved to Massillon, Ohio soon after she was born. She has one younger sister. She lives with her boyfriend and their 5 kids ages 19 to 5. Dawn is a clinical assistant at Omni orthopaedics. When she’s not helping people at work, she enjoys reading a good book, cooking or baking for her “Brady bunch”, running at the park, dancing, or just unwinding at the end of the night with a glass of wine and a good movie.
Keith has been employed at Aqua Ohio for 30 years, and has been married to Diana for 33 years. He has three grown boys and four grand-kids. He likes to travel in with his 30′ fifth wheel and 6 year old cat, Zeva, all over the country. He says he wanted to be one of our celebrity dancers this year to “jump way outside of my comfort zone for a very good cause”. He gives back to the community in many ways, but never quite like this!
Bethany works for the Massillon City Health Department as the Environmental Health Director. She graduated from Walsh University with a B.S. in Biology/Comprehensive Science, and has been a Registered Sanitarian for 13 years. Her husband, Patrick, works at the Massillon Fire Department, and they have two children. She attends St. Barbara Catholic Church, and is a member of the Handbell Choir and volunteers at St. Barbara School. She is also an Associate with the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine. She says she loves her job at the Health Department and enjoys working for the City of Massillon. And of course, she is super-excited to be helping the Lions Lincoln Theatre by participating in Dancing with the Massillon Stars! Click HERE to Vote for Bethany Perkowski!
Randy is married to Susan, and has three daughters, one step-son, three grandsons and two granddaughters. His mother, two sisters and two brothers also live in Massillon. He retired from the Massillon Fire Department after 27 and 1/2 years of service. After Randy graduated from Massillon High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
Randy is also the President of the Massillon Lions Club and enjoys woodworking and travelling. He spends much of his time volunteering at the Lions Lincoln Theatre and is passionate about keeping it open so that it can continue to be a good place for entertainment in Massillon and the surrounding areas. General Manager of Kozmo’s Grille, Mandy is a born and bred Massillonian and proud Washington High School graduate. Mandy met her husband, Chef Aaron Taylor, at Kozmo’s Grille. She has two children, Madison Berner, a WHS grad and a current junior at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, VA., and Roderick Meeks, a 7th grader at Massillon Junior High School. Mandy spends her free time watching Roderick play basketball and baseball, and having political debates with Madison. Mandy decided to participate in this event because she vividly remembers walking -when she was in the 5th/6th grade – to the Lions Lincoln Theatre to watch “Colors”. Mandy feels the Lions Lincoln Theatre is so important to downtown Massillon. When presented with an opportunity to help raise funds, it is a must do! Mandy would like to thank her mom, Georgette, and her extended family, the Kozmo’s Krew, for being so supportive not just for this event, but in everyday life. T-I-G, let’s raise some money!
